F.A.Q

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do you travel for residential or commercial work?

Yes, we travel! Please message us for more information.

2) What is a Professional Organizer?

Personal Organizers help people take control of their homes or businesses by working alongside them to declutter and organize. Whether it's helping to create the Pinterest-perfect pantry, or helping a busy parent/parents/guardian to re-examine the flow of their kitchen or utility closet. We can also act as coaches to our clients, offering tips, and guiding them in the proper methods of organizing. We will take care of everything, from start to finish to make sure your vision is completed. From personalizing your organizing systems to shopping for supplies and hauling your donations away.

3) Why not declutter and organize myself?

When it comes to decluttering and organizing some people can feel stressed and overwhelmed. People find it is easier to work with a professional who can guide them through the problem, help solve it and reduce the stress they feel. Working with someone also makes you block time out for an appointment which will help you to stop putting it off.

4) What happens to my donations?

We will take the items to a donation center of your choice or drop them off to Missions Thrift Store on Murphy rd. in Sarnia, ON. Organizing with Purpose believes that someone's old treasure can be someone's new treasure.

5) Do you take care of non curbside recycling?

Yes we do! We can take non curbside recycling and drop them off in the proper places for an added fee. (batteries, paint cans, small electronics, small appliances, textile recycling, medications, plastic bags)

6) What if I would like to do the work myself, but with the guidance of the professional organizers?

You can work with us virtually. Yes, we said it! Leave us a message for more information on our virtual organizing sessions.

7) Do you work alone or do I work alongside you?

80% of our clients work alongside us, working through the items that will stay, be donated or recycled. Some of our clients decide to have us work alone. In this case we have a system we use to declutter and organize, but never throw out, recycle, or donate without the clients final say.

8) How much is a consultation?

our consultations are FREE!

9) What should I expect at a consultation?

During our consultation we will discuss everything in detail so you are aware of what to expect on organizing day. We will work with clients to develop a custom organizing system for you, your family and your home or business.

10) Do you offer any moving services?

Yes, we do that too! Moving homes is a major task. If you are too busy to pack, overwhelmed or simply don't want to do it (c'mon, we all hate moving) we are here to help! We will even help you unpack, and organize at your new home.

11) Where are you located?

Sarnia, Ontario, Canada

12) Confidentiality?

100%! We take great pride in the high level of trust our clients place in us. Respect, privacy, positivity and the quality of our work are our top priorities.

13) What is virtual organizing?

Work one-on-one with our personal organizers from practically anywhere in the world! Virtual Organizing is the "new" way of helping clients to become organized remotely using their devices. We will guide you through the steps so you can take control of your space. We'll work with you anywhere you are and provide solutions, advice and accountability to fit your lifestyle and space.

14) What are some benefits of organizing?

Stress relief: A constant list of things to do looming over you can often be the source of stress in your life.
Sleep Better: Even if you don't realize it, clutter can cause you lack of sleep. Increases "Me time" and "Family time": You'll have more time on your agenda for things you want to do.
Saves time: No more looking for things!
Order may bring good things!
Followers of the Chinese discipline Feng Shuai believe that a well-ordered home aligns vital energy in your life to bring good fortune in other areas of your life.         Important self-care: Create a home that can give you the time, space, and energy to improve your health.
Could help improve relationships: Happy relationships are key to warding off depression and disease, but a disorganized space can take a toll on bonds. "For couples, clutter can cause tension and conflict,"- Dr. Selhub

13) What precautions are you taking for COVID-19?

We have recently updated our precautions to stay current with public health. Before each on-site session each organizer will complete a pre-check to ensure they are able to work. During our entire session we will wear masks, social distance and frequently wash and disinfect throughout the time we are there. As another precaution we will be wiping down and disinfecting high touch tools and surfaces at the end of every session.
